If you live in the NYC (or are one of our visitors) and you are looking to race on Christmas Day; you are in luck.
A group of enthusiasts from the Bronx area have organized a marathon this Saturday: The Christmas Marathon. It is a trail race, which consists of 4 laps around the Van Cortlandt Park. You can also do 1 lap for a 10k and 2 laps for a half marathon.
The race is free. So, don't expect the usual pit stops at every mile. The race organizers are trying to get some volunteers to help with all that.
A Christmas marathon without gift exchange wouldn't be right, so there is one. If you bring a wrapped gift (you don't have to), you get one in return. You also get a Santa hat and bells for your shoes.
Remember, even if you don't want to run, you can still volunteer.
