Item #10 in Lifehacker's Tools For Free Online Education article is Google Code University, which I hadn't heard of before. Looks useful if you are interested in new technologies like AJAX.
If you haven't programmed before I would suggest going to W3Schools and checking out their HTML, PHP and Javascript tutorials.

Learning a programming language might seem like a waste of time at first, but once you start creating your own tiny applications, it is both fun and useful.
